Letter from Principal
August 3, 2026
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to a new year at Cedar Ridge Elementary School! We are so excited to finally have all of our wonderful DLI students together in one place. We have been working hard all summer to make this transition happen, moving teachers, classrooms, supplies and everything we need to make this a great school year. Now we need to add the most important part–you! As a magnet school we are coming from all over the valley to learn Chinese and Portuguese. Together we are going to build a school full of Falcons who are Safe, Kind, and Responsible learners.
Back to School Night
Back to School Night will be held August 24, 4:30PM to 6:30PM. Come meet your teacher and find your classroom. This will be an open-house event. There will be a presentation at 5:00PM and again at 5:45PM in the gym, for anyone who would like to attend, introducing our principal, school support leader, and counselor.

School Website
You will find our school website at cedarridge.ccsdut.org where you will be able to access a whole range of valuable information throughout the year. We will be working to make sure our information is up to date and relevant on the website so that it is a resource for you as parents. You will find links to our carpooling drop-off/pick-up information, emergency plans, positive behavior interventions and support plans, as well as links to our district webpage and the services offered through our district office. You will also find important announcements and calendar items on our website.
Busing, Transportation, and Fees
There are no fees required in grades K-5. For more information on fees, please see our district website (ccsdut.org). As a magnet school, there is no daily transportation to or from school provided by district buses. Students may be transported on district buses for field trips and other special events. Your child’s teacher may ask for donations to cover fieldtrips, supplies, or activities. Children will not be excluded from activities if they are unable to donate. Any supplies donated will be used during the regular school day. They may be brought from home on a voluntary basis, otherwise, they will be furnished by the school.
School Lunch
If you would like to apply for FREE or REDUCED meals, please fill out the forms online on our district website (ccsdut.org). They can be found under the “For Parents” tab in the “Financial Aid” section (here).
Breakfast Price: $1.40 Lunch Price: $2.05
Breakfast is served each day beginning at 8:00AM. For lunch, there will be two options to choose between and students will need to make that choice at the beginning of the school day for our lunch count. Parents are welcome to come and eat with their students on occasion. If you would like to eat school lunch, please notify the school before 9:00AM to be included in our count.
PTA
We have a great group of parents that support our school in a variety of different ways. If you would like to be involved in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), please contact Jenna Lillywhite (435-632-5100).
Volunteers
We love having volunteers at Cedar Ridge and encourage you to work with teachers to create meaningful volunteer opportunities. Please make sure to check in at the office as you volunteer.
Thanks for being supportive, great parents and for bringing us the best students in the valley! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. This is a big year, and we are building upon some really strong programs as we move into our magnet school. Thank you for being a part of us!
Sincerely,
Joel Winkler, Principal
